Courthouse Christmas Tree Lighting: Begin the holiday season with the annual Courthouse Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony, Friday, Nov. 28 at 5:30 p.m. on the front lawn of the courthouse in Rocky Mount. During the ceremony you’ll enjoy performances from the Benjamin Franklin Middle School Band, a Christmas Card Contest awards presentation and the lighting of the tree by the artist chosen as the Overall Best Card winner. The Little Roy and Lizzy Show: The Rocky Mount Lions Club will present The Little Roy and Lizzy Show, Saturday, Nov. 22 at 7:30 p.m. at the Franklin County High School Auditorium. This bluegrass music act features the talents of Little Roy Lewis and Elizabeth Long whose vocals, fiddling and banjo playing are sure to keep you entertained.
